General Information

Les Magasins Korvette is a Quebec-based chain of family-owned discount stores with Head Office and distribution centre in Trois-Rivières. All our stores are located in the Province of Quebec and vary anywhere from 2,890 square feet to well over 13,600 square feet in retail floor space.

Our chain stores offer their customers a wide array of merchandise, including men’s and women’s apparel, health and beauty products, linens, household products, tableware, kitchen accessories, gift items, toys, stationery, seasonal items, and many other products.

The company was launched in 1958 by four co-founders, among them the late Jean-Marc Binette. From the moment they opened their first store in the Municipality of Donnacona, the co-founders had only one goal in mind – to open multiple store locations.

Following the death of Mr. Jean-Marc Binette on October 15, 1997, Mrs. Huguette Binette has been president until May 2012.

The corporate philosophy behind the growth of Magasins Korvette is to develop local markets in municipalities located on the outskirts of large cities while maintaining the focus on the human factor and excellence in customer service. Most of our branches are located in shopping centres and/or the downtown core of small municipalities. This philosophy, which is passed down from generation to generation, is now being upheld by the company’s current owners, the children of the late Jean-Marc Binette.

The company celebrated its 50th anniversary on September 1st, 2008 amid a large gathering of its employees in Trois-Rivières.

The company is now in the hands of three children, one working there is Daniel Binette and he assumes the presidency.
